Laurel B. Wagner, Ph.D.
Director of Training |
Dallas Therapy Alliance is a partnership of psychologists committed to providing the highest quality psychological services and training. We are seven licensed psychologists collaborating to provide comprehensive psychological treatments for the diverse population in our community. Alliance psychologists are skilled in a variety of treatment modalities and practice from a relational psychoanalytic orientation. An integral value of our group practice is the education of future generations of psychologists in the theory and practice of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
The Dallas Therapy Alliance Postdoctoral Fellowship is a full-time, one-year training program in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and assessment. The Fellowship is uniquely positioned in a group practice and serves as an opportunity for specialized training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and assessment while gaining valuable experience in a private practice setting. Supervision is provided by licensed, clinical and counseling psychologists with varying specialties. Fellows receive both individual and group supervision.

Assoc. Director of Training
Travis Whitfill, Ph.D.
Admissions Coordinator |
The focus of training is on psychoanalytic psychotherapy from a predominately relational and attachment-oriented theoretical position. We value and expect treatment tailored to the patient’s individual
needs. This includes integrating other treatment modalities, e.g., dialectical behavior therapy, with an overarching psychoanalytic approach. Fellows work with a variety of different kinds of patients, ranging from those with depression and anxiety disorders to those with trauma, major mental illness and personality pathology. Fellows are responsible for taking on a variety of cases and psychotherapy relationships, i.e., individual, couples, family and play therapy. The fellowship requires a minimum of three child cases. Assessment training is an important part of this fellowship and the fellow completes a minimum of two assessments. Opportunities for assessment include cognitive, personality and therapeutic assessments for adults, adolescents and children. This fellowship provides a particular focus on attachment assessments, using attachment projective measures with adults, adolescents, children and families. Compensation is commission-based. Details of compensation will be discussed at the time of the interview.
Applications will be reviewed when received. January 15th is the application deadline. Interviews will occur at any time at the discretion of the training program, and will be virtual if the pandemic persists.
