About  (contact me)

Dr. Wagner, a licensed clinical psychologist with over thirty years of experience, sees therapy as a deep exploration of problems and conflicts within the safety of the therapeutic relationship.  She respects her patients for their willingness to open up about painful experiences in order to work through and move beyond them. She believes we are not defined by our past, but we often must understand it in order to not repeat it.  At the same time she likes to emphasize that change happens only in the present moment.
Dr. Wagner helps individuals with a wide variety of emotional problems and diagnoses.  She believes no problem is too difficult to face.  This includes trauma, dissociation, psychotic symptoms, suicidal ideation and attempts, deeply entrenched depression, crippling anxiety and personality disorders.  Of course, she also helps those with less severe difficulties, such as stressful upper management positions, parenting skills, behavioral management of childhood disorders and marital problems.

Dr. Wagner’s approach is best described as hopeful.  She believes in herself, her patient and their combined ability to make powerful changes in the patient’s life.

Dr. Wagner is an expert in contemporary psychoanalytic theory and therapy, attachment and attachment disorders, adoption, adolescence, personality disorders, trauma and the intersection of psychology and Christianity.    She treats, supervises, teaches and writes on these issues.

Dr. Wagner has been married for over 25 years and has a college-aged son.  Her interests include drawing and painting, contemplative practices and travel.
